Range of Motion, Freedom of Movement: Shaping Our Nation (and World!)
Infringing: If the legislation and associated spending bills he announced in his speech to the joint session last evening does not infringe on my rights, if all the infrastructure building that he wants to bring to fruition does not infringe on my space, then the actual content of President Biden's speech risks infringing on my copyright(s). I'm not sure if the president has been glancing at my blog throughout his 'young' tenure, or perhaps it was just his speech writer who tore a page from it...but the messages, themes, and quotes sure ring familiar, don't they? That is, messages and exhortations regarding the importance of being a body in motion, getting into shape, America! Just a few tantalizing quotes to convince you that he's been listening to me, that I'm at least getting through to someone. First, on the domestic front: "America's moving. Moving forward...Do not let up now...we all know life can knock us down, but in America we never, ever, ever (thought he might get lost in the teleprompter here) stay down...It's time to get to work [out]..." And on foreign policy, in inviting the rest of the world to shape up as well: "America will stand up to unfair trade practices...we won't just sit back..."
Dis-judged: By the time the 'trainer-in-chief' was done with his speech I was convinced his critics had gotten it all wrong, that 'Good Ol' Joe' is NOT out of energy, that he was just 'biding' his time, waiting for the right time to push the pedal to the metal, which is apparently just what he is going to do, as he plans on hitting the road almost immediately (perhaps after a combat nap) to promote his plans, to attend a road rally! While I am inspired by his unforeseen vigor, I would have to advise the president to pace himself, because if he's ultimately going to set the pace in climbing the mountain of debt his proposals will cost, he BETTER be in shape!
Speaking of Movement: This same morning that the president plans on hitting the road, "World News" included an article detailing the restrictions Amazon is placing on its employees while at their warehouses, to visit the restroom as needed. Talk about infringing and limiting 'movements', doesn't one of the amendments cover this, at least in spirit? Oh, I just noticed that the warehouse in question is on foreign soil--did anyone tell the president before his speech last night? Then there was a segment the same half hour regarding a woman who escaped dreadful captivity and an almost certain death by digging a tunnel through the bottom of a makeshift outdoor toilet. And in another written article "Its Time to Knock the Toilet of Its Pedestal" (Bloomberg), comes an editorial citing the historical wonders of the toilet and modern sanitation needing some updating to be more ecofriendly, such as using various types of pressure and vacuums (want to be part of these 'trials' ?...sign here_____). AND, all this partly 'under' written by the president's so-called "American [dirtiest] Job Plan" It took some close reading to flush out the details. Lots of money down the toilet, in my opinion, but I guess the president or his speech writer are only reading selective posts...
Speaking of Recycling, Repurposing: TP, that is. Or other types of paper as well, comes an article this very same morning about a housing structure that comes in the size of a mattress and unfolds in an origami type of pattern, in a matter of minutes...a credible structure made of paper, a structure you can easily transport if you are a body, family, nation on the go. All fine and dandy, but what and who would you bet on if you were engaged in a real life game of "rocks, scissors, paper"?
Presidential Fitness Award: What I'm willing to share with the president if he'll cite me as his main source.
Go Dr.I go! Yes, we all need to get up and at ‘em! You are an inspiration, if not to Joe B., then to the rest of US! ☺️
