Just in case, a SASsy Rx of Resolve
Henceforth: Just in case you are resolving to resolve -- that is, planning on making any resolutions to "do/not do" in the coming year, I am here just in time to save you time and trouble (the trouble that comes with both agonizing whether to make them and then, of course, there's the business of compliance). Instead, I am offering you a cure for such ills that comes in a Short And Sweet formula, which will be one that should sustain your mental and physical health in the days and weeks ahead (maybe even longer than the 'Super Bowl Effect', the average length of time a person keeps their NY resolutions, and why gyms are less busy starting about mid-February), and one which will also almost guarantee the well-being of those in your proximity...one that can be dosed and taken orally or otherwise, one which is both dissolvable, digestible (with or without food, for those making NY resolutions about overeating😌), and comes in both name brand and generic form (actually no patent pending outside of this post)...the active ingredients of which can be found in and around your own home. And now you can dispense with all the others, as you now have:
DIY, DUO, qod: Certainly you can remember such a SAS recipe, can't you? (for those of you resolving to work on your STM in 202?), and certainly you should be able to maintain compliance (at least better than most adults with most prescription medications, which may be another area you're resolving...). In short, DIY, a slight deviation on the now ubiquitous "Do It Yourself" (a common resolution for many, of course) is used here just as a mnemonic aid, to assist your STM, and meant to bring your attention to Self-Care, whereas DUO, a slight deviation from "Duo Lipa", also a household name, one which also brings a dose of harmony to our homes these days...but here standing for Do Unto Others, as in 'other-care'. Both of them start with attention to the ADL's ADL -- that is the Activities of Daily Living, All Day Long, and finally, qod is the medical abbreviation for "every other day"'. In my vast experience, like when I am trying to get people to start a good recipe for a sustainable workout plan, I just try for three to four times per week or qod, which, once again, in my experience, will give rise to eventually a PA (or 'Positive Addiction'😄), one which progresses gradually over a period of three to four months (assuming a degree of compliance) from "do I have to...go to the gym...help my neighbor?" to "I can't wait...what else can I do for you?" And, just in case either part of this recipe gets too thick, you can dilute it with PLAY (as in "play"), preferably ood ("out of doors") which can in turn be a good recipe in fighting S.A.D., a common malady this time of year around here, often exacerbated by unsuccessful resolutions. There you have it. Now, "Just do..."
