The Great Re:Veal: "Show-And-Tell Time!" Part 1 - Rationale, Purpose (or, why you voted for me)

In States of Red, Blue, and White

Staples: (and paper clips), or anything more modern that allows US to "keep it together". In educational parlance, as a noun, it can actually refer to the real thing -- "a thin piece of wire, driven by a stapler, used to fasten, keep things together..." -- which is in turn the reason that at least a "mini" might be suggested, if not "required" in the "back-to-school" list of supplies (along with personal Kleenex, hand sanitizer and other cleaning supplies, these days) -- so much to fill one backpack, a lot to expect for children to lug. Here, "staples" as mentioned by Webster et al. more 'secondarily' but in educational settings, more 'instrumentally', as referring to the "chief commodities or by-products" as well as the ways in which these products are produced, such as "young learners". This, following "Current Events" as one staple, another time-honored tradition, in both schools and business, I bring to you, yet another, which has been modified through the years partly from stylistic trends, updated by technology...as well as by necessity, as demonstrated (or not, as the case may be) in the past few pandemic years..."Show-And-Tell" Yet another tool, readily available to educators and business leaders alike, that enable, encourage, foster...a type of...

Methodology: A word conjuring up all the ways in which students ostensibly learn best and by which educational curriculum is delivered most efficiently as well as effectively, as in keeping the audience engaged. Here and now, as I try through "word pictures" (contemporary ed. lingo) try to at least tell you about another staple that is readily available and perhaps "over-looked" by some, "over-booked" by others -- the latter being associated with teachers who were "taking it easy"....That is, when our school age children wanted to 'trigger' us, get our blood boiling, seeing red, blue in the face, just short of apoplectic, losing our (white knuckled) grip...when we casually asked about what they learned in school today, as if they had been prepped, blithely commented, "I think our teacher was feeling charitable today, wanted to take it easy on us -- all we did was listen to other students present and...watch movies"๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜   Yeah, can either be under-appreciated or over-utilized. But when used in combo with other staples, including "Current Events", "Show-and-Tell" as a "methodology" Show-and-Tell: "Can be an effective teaching method, especially in teaching younger children (and employees as it turns out, who knew?), in which students are (used to be, at least) encouraged to bring items to school and, when the appointed time comes, to describe, even demonstrate them to their classmates...

Next: "The time has come, to finally show us" (or, after the votes have been cast and counted)
