Lingering, Sustaining, After Affects: Royalties, Loyalties...legions of legends.

Q & A, Royal-like: US versus Them

Q: Where does a dress code (commanding the wearing of dresses, particular lengths, etc. along with specific socks, even specifying type of shoes)...and required etiquette classes, given that they will be in the public eye, if not the world stage, come together? The focus of which deemed by the Library of Congress to be "culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant"

A: A crash, I mean collision course, of when the "Rockford Peaches" met the "Racine Belles" (many of which were already familiar, both good and bad blood, sounding familiar yet?). When these two groups, teams of 'ladies in waiting', two of the four teams of the AAGPBL - -short-hand for the "All American Girls Professional Baseball League", which reigned around these parts from 1943-1954, the world championship of 1943 featuring the Peaches (hailing from Illinois, not Georgia) and the Belles (curiously not from the so-called deep south but Racine, Wisconsin) -- requiring a full seven games. And the drama together with the pageantry all but eclipsed that of the "Royal Coronation" -- well before the "Royals" hailing from Kansas City were even thought of...which became a so-called "expansion team" was "granted" by MLB (Major League Baseball, in long-hand), who apparently felt bad for this forlorn city after the K.C. Athletics left for warmer climes -- that being Oakland CA. Sort of a divorce, at least estrangement.

A2: The third leg of a trifecta of "feels good" films, that set the mood for the national past time around here. Along with "Sandlot" and "Field of Dreams"..."A League of Their Own" is among the most watched by the "watchers" over here...

Lieges of Titles: All this a spin-off, after I saw, barely over-heard, then read about, the newly crowned King's "liege man" and just what all that entailed. Well, They may have their titles such as dukes, duchesses and such, but when put side-by-side with names and characters like "All the Way Mae", Betty "Spaghetti" Horn, and Alice "Skeeter" Gaspers, who wins your heart? Who would you rather be in liege with?

Turns out We have more in common than at first glance, as in "Common-er"
