Same Old Story: Vain + Glory. Let the Battle begin!

The Battle Royale: "The fight to the finish!" No matter how many rounds it takes, to get there..."And in this corner, we have the contender, Teniola Bisselliella, flying in from places unseen...and in the other, trying to fight back, keep it together, through the ages, we have (if you haven't scented it yet) --- "Paradichlorobenzene!" It's gonna' be a rumble; get ready to caste your bets...as to how long either will stay in the game...This after both came so far, covered a lot of distance, either literally or...

"So, you've finally arrived" Whether you were one of those early arrivers, or late-commoners, someone who has fought long and hard to get "here", just how long do you think you can reside, as in stay "in residence" or "on top" as in the so-called "incumber" or "champion!" If your parents didn't tell you, history is replete with lessons of the past...lessons that despite assuming proper posture (which is actually one of the 40 rules that Royals are brought up by that I have yet to share here)...that "posture is important": young women brought up royally are taught the Duchess slant while it's considered a breach of etiquette for boys to be seen with hands in their pockets...especially while striking a pose, and it's otherwise crucial for survival, to stay on the move, in order to stay on top, even as primal as to sustain your relevance in an ever-changing, so-called "evolving" world...

"Heads will roll!" While "Off with their heads!" once meant exactly that, especially in the age of the guillotine, the Queen of Hearts in "Alice and Wonderland" was especially (im)partial to this way settling issues, so she could get back to her true passion, croquet. And, as casted as recently as "the day after" the Royal Coronation, comes a report that Prince William, apparently seeing the proverbial writing on the wall, has already concluded that if he makes it this far, such a lavished event is no longer relevant or otherwise, based on the rising tides of protests against such royal living, while the growing numbers of disgruntled commoners have started toppling statues, some of which have been around for centuries..."See, didn't I tell you, that a reputation takes a long, long time to build up, but can be quickly toppled" said the parent, to the child who just accomplished what they thought was something "grand". Yep, got to stay on the move, otherwise you could be mistaken for being too 'statuesque' Oh, while I am at it, the other key to sustainability is the other word I have featured here almost as frequently as the Queen of Hearts yelling for your and my heads...in order to keep your in check, a few ounces of HUMILITY..."always be humble, especially in victory" our parents and coaches, plus the historians have taught us...Speaking of historians...

"Back to the Future" And let the battle finally begin, the story finally reach its climax...A group of teens are out thrifting (which will never go out of style, as other things do), looking for a special outfit to wear to such an occasion, and out of the jumble of junk, comes a 'diamond in the rough' in the form of a uniform adorned with medals signaling some grand accomplishment or another and now, with royal enthusiasm, rivaling that what we saw during the so-called "royal wave" (one more of the 40 rules that They are cultured in), the thrifters are gifted with diamonds from the "old world", in the form of "family jewels" in the form of a crown. Thus, "Look, it's the crown jewels!" Followed closely by, "This uniform may have to be altered a bit, in order to be a good fit...and OMG, I'll have to not only let it out, but leave it outdoors, for some fresh air, given the pungent smell of moth balls (aka "paradichloro...")...which I guess is better in appearance at least, than one that's been moth ("Teniola...") bitten..."

"Only a matter of time..." Whether we find ourselves being "mustered out" as millions of soldiers were following WWII or just "de-commissioned" as tons of ships were, otherwise "put on mothballs"...we all at least lose a degree of relevance over time, as judged by future gens...

"In the Mean-time..." In order to stay where you have finally arrived, whether it was earned through years of hard work and elbow grease, or by rubbing elbows with the "movers and shakers" or, because you come from the royal blood line itself, it's always good form, a type of royal posturing, if you will, to guard against complacency (i.e., "don't just stand there looking like a statue...") but even more so...a sense of entitlement, or setting yourself up for the biggest fall from grace via "an inordinate amount of pride in oneself or one's accomplishments; excessive vanity" The very definition of "vainglorious".

"Don't wear out your welcome":  Not one of the 40 for raising Royals, but always part of the House rules.

OK, it's finally time to leave this House of Royals and get on with our lives...
