"About Time!" (for conferences) --from the looks of it.

Pause for a Cause: I had to put my plans on pause, to present on the previously noted topic of mutual concern, HUGE morale implications -- that is I just had to put my original plan to post up about RECESS! getting recessed...possibly for good (certainly not for theirs, a HUGE morale buster). This, taking a short recess from the bigger topic of recessing RECESS! prompted by a walk around the school yard the last few evenings, at which time we could not help but peer into the many well-lit classrooms...only to see two, three adults sitting around a desk that was meant for someone slighter in stature, who was probably sitting at home, wondering how this was all going to work out, whether they, themselves, were coming up a bit...short...

Con-ferring: As we gave a glance, a reverie came into view, of earlier times when we, our-selves sat around such a table, desks, across from the teacher and listened intently, knowing we would get quizzed upon arriving home... about every project they had hand-selected for the "conference folder" -- a bit skewed, if you ask me...and about even earlier times when we, our-selves sat at home...wondering...

"Time's up!" The words that many students fear, when conference time is approaching, when some have left too much and waited until the so-called "eleventh hour" which can easily give rise to the meme "witching hour" (is it just a coincidence, that it coincides with, the time of year...?) And the words that we, peering into what was taking place, in-side -- their heads, were the words a few seem to be hoping for...given the bored looks...sheer terror in a few other cases...as we passed a whole 'wing' of classrooms, countenances...

Key, sour notes: The ones that the brevity of time, set aside for conferences seem to allow for, given how busy both parents and teachers -- many of which may have rushed from their own just a few minutes prior, given the looks -- you can tell a lot from a glance...which gave rise to yet another set of key questions that parents ask their students...in advance of conference time...

"Just when...?" Do conferences start...and as one caller asked, one representing a culture that is known for being a "stickler" about time..."So, when does the game...end?" πŸ˜•πŸ˜ŒπŸ˜Ÿ

Memora-bilia: A few other questions we can all relate to, whether or not we, our-selves took time out for school conferences, is what you hung on to...from either all the stuff your students produced, that seemed so "remarkable" at that time...and as for the rest, who might not have had children of their own...what did you hang onto from the so-called "key-note" speakers you have heard over the years, from the many conferences that you have attended, whether you elected to do so, or were 'invited' by your employer...in which case those where you were "bored to tears" were probably, ironically speaking, the most memorable..."Can you believe they made us endure, sit through that...?!"

"About damn time!" Wait, those are the actual words that led off, or at least captured our attention as the lead single, from Lizzo's fourth studio album. Which in turn captured what was on the minds of the weary grandparents waiting, from the looks on their faces, when YOU finally arrived, from the school conferences, after using the opportunity to "run a few errands" after (while the look on your own face conveyed a "slightly different story"😏). Words and looks we can all relate to, when arriving, just a bit too late...beyond what's considered "fashionable"...

"Your time has come" Highly different meanings, affects, depending on the context, what was conferred, on your behalf...😊😨
