Scary***thought(s): "We want to hear yours" Exorcising Thought Fullness
"Yeah, I know..." Or, "I can relate...tell me all about it..." As if the reporter, psychologist, or an English teacher you had really had any real interest (in contrast to what we are more accustomed to, referred to as "feigned" interest, as in a bit fake), or had already assumed what you were thinking. Worse yet, on occasion, we can all relate to, another person, perhaps one who has already passed on, passed down the correct way to think. And worse of all, as in the present case, I've probably interrupted yours, or the chain of thoughts that brought you back here, expecting ("Perhaps, you thought I'd be actually complete the thoughts about what could potentially happen as in how, why, when, RECESS! could be permanently interrupted...) Well, please pardon the interruption, as I meander in my thought pattern, just a bit, which represents one or more points on the whole continuum of thought as well as the methodologies for "getting them out..." Which was once again prompted, by a simple walk around the school yard, which became for US, a "walk down memory lane" (see 10/18 if you want to experience it in real time) as we watched (glanced, not to be rude) the out-ward expressions of what "they must be thinking..." Which I had pretty much put behind me, as I occupied my-self with "thoughts of the day", the pattern of which, about ten minutes into my work-out, just when I had started to work out a few "conundrums" on your behalf, a bit underprepared (well, to tell the truth, become accustomed to this, as in "conditioned", almost "expectant"), had, heard the reporter (in my own imagination, thoughts, what I pictured), in the most tender of moments, when they had already softened them up with..."I can only imagine what you must have been feeling, under these dire circumstances..." turned them even more in-ward..."Now, can you tell us all what you were, are thinking, after you've had a few days, hours, minutes...go ahead take your time...OK that's about enough as we are running out, into a hard break..." ARRRGH!!! Was all I could convey at the time; something like that. But then, it occurred to me, along with what all those parents approaching "school conferences" -- especially those who were running a byte late, who didn't give it much thought...the ones we almost got "caught looking", glancing at, when I switched back and forth, my so-called professional and (grand)parent hats...
Thought, patterns: As in "what's going on beneath the surface, above the neck..." In real time, as well as past, futuristic speaking...As in Fore, Active, After...THOUGHTS. I'll give it all to you, at least in what we psychologists, posturing as scientists more than artisans (ergo, "the art and science of...") rely occasionally on some of our earlier training, book knowledge, the time tested "scientific method" -- I'll try my best to provide you with just some "representative" thoughts, at least stage of this whole thought process. Trying to capture, with my own limitations (or do I mean "imitations"?) what you may have, are, were...whether you, yourself are in active thought, "thinking for your-self for once!" (who hasn't heard that growing up...) or relying on, co-opting, collaborating with, a few others, as in "group think" -- the latter of which, when attempting to elevate the quality of...might be conferred the title "Think Tank" -- a bit of contrast to a group we wish would keep theirs to them-selves...the whole cast of "Talking Heads". The latter term of which may prompt you, if you're anything like me, to cast a glance at what the simple nod or, when bringing almost their whole head and body into it (Blue Men Group..."Basic Head Bob!") offer us a glimpse of their thinking, via the whole range, body of work to assist us in interpreting...Body language" In turn...
Giving Rise: As in what brought me (and you, I guess if you've read this far) to this moment, the "whole chain of thoughts" that eventuated, culminated...the pattern of which represent two related types of thought, patterns...one of which we learned in both "Lit" and "Composition" classes (whether you were fully aware or now, with this prompt...) was called "Stream of consciousness" as a methodology of authors as well as we, as aspiring writers, "on assignment" -- "get out a piece of paper and pencil, and I'm going to give you a prompt, at which time you'll start writing..." Oh no, another IMPROMPT-DUE! Or later, in our so-called "graduate-professional" training, was represented in part by "Free association" As in, "Go ahead, just think out loud...I'll redirect you from time to time you go too far afield..." Which, come tp think of it, sort of resembles, resonates, voices, thoughts from the past..."You are free to associate with who you wish, but careful, as you will be judged in part by..." There's no end to this...as in linking current experiences with earlier learning, becoming part of our long term memory bank...which could easily, give rise to the following dia-logue in any psych. office, at any point in time: "I'm banking on my experience, wealth of experience, and all your past you've shared so far, this fist twenty-five minutes or so...I'll bet I know what you're thinking..." To which, as if prepped, having anticipated, thought out an "I'll go-rhythm" the one that just had theirs interrupted: "Didn't anyone teach you that sometimes, it's better to keep yours to your-self...piece, out!"
Something to think about: As in "Next time..." As in next post, "Just one more thought, one that got pushed to the surface, that's been vying for my attention, and one that will, like-it-or-not, be brought to yours: "EXCU-U-U-USE ME, but manners still matter!" What better time and place to be re-minded prior to returning, just before the youngsters might (if they're lucky enough to still have it, in the future) re-enter the school building, just after RECESS!
Manner matters: Up next, for DIS-cussion.
***Can you, have you all-ready figured out the association, with just a one-word prompt, any, all those SCARY movies brought out, this time of the year...💀👻...???
"So, what's your favorite scary movie...Sydney"? "Come on, you ought to know, by now...I could just Scream...!"
