Got the blues?
You're excused: Not from school or work, silly. But just for having the condition that has stricken many around here, this whole region. One which has transitioned from a darker hue (the one that goes nicely with maize) to another, cross the aisle and down two rows, in the Crayola box. Especially if you were not prepared when you tuned into the scene or, more so, if you left sunnier climes (let's just say Tampa area, for the sake of brevity) to travel north, in search of...who went home..."feeling it" Given the conditions inside the stadium which, while toasty warm and hotter as the game progressed, was also decked out in a color that brings to mind calm, warm winds...Pacific-like. Oddly, a color that when we around here adorn ourselves, get all hyped up! For those not familiar with our own...
Crayola Coloring Book: One that features only two colors, which were predominantly featured by the fans and what turned out to be the dominant team...a nice, soft Honolulu Blue accompanied, accented by, streaks of silver. Nice. At least we think so. It's what the whole stadium was glowing in and what we fans have been feeling, at least vicariously, through those out on the field of play...colors and a state of mind (frenzy!) that can pierce what is otherwise, this time of year, frequently bleak, dreary, gray skies. A sky and conditions that can easily, unless you have become immune as a longstanding ("long suffering") Lions fan bring you down...
SAD got you? Well, if you're not a Lions fan or otherwise an out-of-towner, not used to hanging out, in the "D" (as we have come to call it, affectionately) -- OR if you simply stay in you may be missing out, on some...Vitamin D, that is. Especially this time of year, with all the cloud cover and such. While Seasonal Affective Disorder is common around these parts, if stayed around for the post-game yesterday, and saw the fans refusing to budge until, the last hometown hero left the field, you could easily get caught up in what is now a diagnosable condition, "Seasonal Affectionate Disorder" a condition which is lasting longer than what we are accustomed to this particular year. Kind of up-lifting.
