Beleaguered, Besieged, Be right over. States of diplomacy.
Any yield signs...foreign or domestic? "Nyet"
In short form: Not yet. The answer to the question posed many times this morning on both fronts...of the respective parties showing even an ounce of respect nor interest in yielding to any diplomatic measures, either those here as in domestically or those that have reached across the seas, as in "shuttle diplomacy"...going where and when, as in knowing when we are not wanted but needed...so we think...
"R We asking too much?" Well, maybe…given that we have had hard enough time resolving internal conflicts let alone those on foreign shores…
Kin-dread spirits, we R: If we can't even re-establish the so-called "friendly skies" by resolving our own air strike, how can we expect to get them to cease firing...
Where Noreast meets the "far-out" wild, wild west: Which took horde of AD's meeting in closed quarters with TV exec's from ABC, NBC, CBS, not to get out FOXed from getting their share of the HUGE windfall. Skilled negotiators, in their own rights, that led to a "re-alignment" as in carving out a whole new nation of new leagues, that managed to bring the two coast together in something simply, now named "BIG". Which around here, as in the "Midwest" used to be known as "Champions of the...west". Weird.
Bridging the gap: As in those who conceive of, design, then direct, the bridge builders, after digging the initial shiny, brand spanking new shovel, into the dirt, then never to be seen again until the ribbon cutting...As opposed to those around the world intent on burning, blowing up, or, through what was determined..."pilot error" from their own bridge on the ship...re-arranged the columns...ouch!
Ambassadorships: A "thankless" position which will, if you rise to the occasion, find you saying "thanks" in many languages, learning the customs of how to shake, when not to...in order to avoid getting held up by those manning the "customs" booth...Which for U.S. here, not only includes the whole East/West thing but also a specific location where North (as in Canada) is South...as in our city named by the French, but designated these daze as the Old English D...So what would you name such a span? Only to be matched, just around the bend of the Detroit River (we don't care much what they call it there, eh?)...
"and Howe!" Two words that sum up not only agreement but one skated, I mean stated, emphatically. And how better to represent such a concept and state of affairs than "Mr. Hockey" whose diplomacy could be summed up as "get their number" -- such as when he was checked from behind, when he was otherwise preoccupied in the corner...skirmishing, or whatever...a score he would settle at another time and place. Which is why, I suppose, the first rule in being an effective diplomat, like hockey..."skate with your head up..." Welcome to the Gordie Howe Bridge, which spans the gap, almost as wide as the one in a veteran hockey player's front teeth...get the picture?
Playing the angles: Nope, not another hockey analogy, but one that could easily find you slipping down a slippery slope...if you don't calculate correctly. As in knowing all the angles, of what are now, in common parlance of...."state, I mean stake, holders". The ones that you are trying to bring to the table...the ones that might sine, cosine, and the ones that could take you off, on a...tangent. This whole process of diplomacy can, unless you follow strict (slide) rules, become a bit Triggy...
