School, aged children: Studies in tuition.

Age-ism: Just when most individuals from U.S. boomer Gen (born 1946-1964) have already elected to take their hard-earned Social Security checks, and otherwise finding themselves on Medicare, after having "aged out" of other opportunities, the recently coined "Schools of Life Long Learning" have opened their doors, offering an unlimited number of courses they never encountered in their so-called "formal" or even more incidental learning. Many free of tuition -- at least the type we are accustomed to prior to being allowed into the so-called "hallowed halls" of higher learning (the latter being boosted a bit by what's now legalized). Just when the majority of those who have reached the age where "downsizing" is manifested in part by purging -- including attempts to rid themselves of information irrelevant to the task at hand...just in order to...place an order, for instance. Along comes some new studies form those same halls indicating that 'new learning' (as in learning something that is novel, new, at least it seems so, eh?) helps to expand your mind, adds to your well...being. So don't worry anymore about throwing all that used stuff out and look on the upside of returning to school (see "Back to School" with Rodney Dangerfield if you're not convinced). I'll even grant you what used to be called "extra credit" -- even though my daze as an "Part-time Adjunct Associate Professor" are well...behind me. Where I walked those halls, finding me long on prep, short on pay, satisfaction complete, in helping to teach the teachers of tomorrow...
