Re:Birthing Units - post ex-hilaration nations: B4 and after.

"Watch one, do one, teach one...and all" Residentially teaching, time-tested.

A-Priori: "Prior to sowing up..." (Latin to English translation for "a priori" refers to the "knowledge which proceeds from theoretical deduction rather than from observation or experience" and is usually more apropos to "law making" rather than having a place in actual birthing units)

After the liberation: "the baby is free and clear" and following the jubilation of family, friends, and staff...

Time for hesitation: Prior to conceiving a whole other...being -- "What we're going to be about will bear absolutely no resemblance..."

"Don't look now" A cautionary from the L & D nurses who, from experience know, while the birth itself, welcoming new life is highly dramatic, the after-birth is much messier, and a reminder of just how complicated, fragile, otherwise "fluid" this process is...

Do's and Don'ts: Totally OK, even called for, to congratulate each other on a job well done, when the tough part, "the long haul" is just starting to form. Erstwhile, even when starting a new cycle (such as a new administration, "for illustration purposes") DON'T be too quick to discard every remnant, which is known in neo-natal units as taking care, to avoid "throwing out the baby...with the bath water..."
