Talk About Mixed Messages! It's What's Trending...

In or Out, Off or On, Open or Closed...Would ya just make up (our) minds?! The news these days are full of changing alliances, shifting positions, 'fickled friendships' -- love 'em, hate 'em, or what? Can we just take a position and keep it for a while?! It's so confusing! 

Probing, home and away: probing for microbes, that is. On the same day I read an article in my daughter's Critical Care Nursing Journal entitled, "Antimicrobial Stewardship", which discussed the judicious use of various agents to kill these little buggers that can harm us (in the ICU and beyond), I read another article regarding scientists having found microorganisms thriving in the Atacama Desert in Chile, a finding which in turn suggests that microbes, either living or fossils, could be found in similar clay layers on Mars. Followed by an interview with one of the engineers involved in designing the largest and most sophisticated rover NASA just successfully launched to Mars, having landed in an ancient river delta that may contain signs of whether the planet ever harbored microbial life...and they're celebrating! Don't we have enough of these microbial buggers, so many that sanitizer to fend them off was running short for a while? Just who stands to gain if 'they' decide to bring some samples home to 'us'? And, even if in the benign form of "My Friendly Martian" (1963-66 TV series starring Christopher Lloyd as Uncle Martin, the Martian), will they be treated with 'kid gloves' or roughed over, placed in a perpetual quarantine like E.T.? We are so fickle...

Open, Closed for Business: this has happened so often the past year, that I wished I had invested in revolving doors.

And They're Off! No, On Again: as in the "2020 Summer Olympics" -- the aspiring athletes must be getting whiplash...stay tuned...

Card Carrying Members, Shedding, Shredding: Left, right, left, WTO, WHO,WCO...we want to be part of the gang, then we don't, sometimes to the degree of doing away with the club altogether. Depending on who is in the oval office of course. Perhaps we could all just come to the center, the middle, as in middle initial, and develop an organization comprising them, such as THC! Another thing we get mixed messages about these days.

It's so confusing...if I couldn't find humor in it, I'd spit...Oh, that's a no-no right now!
