RE: Re-/Pre-...Reprise, Reappraisal: "The Great Frame-Up!" 10K and counting...On You.

Hear and Now: Now that you've had a chance to cleanse your viral palate, clear your mind, rid yourself of any remnants, resonance of "Viral Vicissitudes" (will we ever really be done with this or, better put, will this virus and its now countless iterations, ever be done with us?)...As for me, I know, upon reflection, that, like you, I've had many "I'm so @#&*?$ done with this..." (see 8-8-21 post) moments throughout the two years commencing about March, 2020, when we as a nation started seriously counting COVID numbers, and a few months prior to me starting to formally write about 'It' as a topic...

Before, After, Pre-Post: And after I had sworn off writing about this dreadful topic, blogging, with a corresponding commitment to myself, self-stated determination, to return to writing the book (now expanded to two, plus a short story, at least conceptualized, in my imagination, germination stage) -- the one which was/is to be a compilation of reflections on over four decades now as a psychologist, which had taken the form of listings and organizations of categories of experiences with many of you, experiences that have been formative in my growth as not only a professional psychologist (or "Practicing Provocateur" as captured in part of the title), but in my own personal growth -- compelling experiences that were then, now, and later, will be part of my own journey forward, and which I trust will add at least a morsel of value to yours. That was prior to the "Viral Vicissitudes" coming to our shores which, along with the encouragement of my son ("Dad, you should write a blog"), eventuated in 370 posts, which I thought was to be "a wrap" (see 9-12-21 post), which culminated in the 4-4-22 "Getting in the Last Word(s)" post. Which instead became the start of about a two month hiatus, one which was in turn disrupted when I casually glanced at the "Stats" section of this blog, which revealed that, despite a temporary halting of writing, at least as this blog is concerned, 'It' continued to attract a few readers here and there, which as of yesterday went over 10,000 (10,003 to be exact). Which is not a major milestone for more accomplished bloggers-at-large, but for me, a novice, struck me as remarkable! And a number which in earlier times, a reverie, resembled a significant number -- as in "10K", a familiar number for casual or more serious long-distance runners. Which in turn became yet another (more welcome this time around) detour from the main course of writing. Or, is this simply a form of avoidance, a 'virtuous' form of a stall tactic, a form of what psychologists refer to as rationalization, which might initially serve and comfort me, but could become, if it's not tempered, end up a 'dis'service...Well, that's up to YOU, dear reader, to decide. So "Welcome Back!" To this Renamed blog. After all, I'm still counting on you...
