Re: A-Praise-All -- So, Reap...Heap...Weep: "Choose Your Own Adventure Meets Jeopardy"
(AKA from Re:gale to Re:veal...to Re:vile?!) - How did I go from there to here, overnight?!
The Adventure Continues: The one you and I started together a long time ago here, in the form of finding ways, navigating the pandemic unfolding right before our eyes, the full effects of which have yet to be completely unmasked. More recently, as of two days ago, right here, a re:application, re:envisioning of the "Choose Your Own Adventure" book series, applied here in an attempt to provide you with an alternative to increasing your Melatonin dosage at bedtime (whenever that is, lately) -- utilizing your vast imagination to better mitigate nocturnal anxiety in particular...including a re:organization, mash-up of real life situations and take them into the land of "make believe"...playing loose with historical fiction...kind of like you encounter when watching some evening news these days ("They have got to be making this up; I wondered if they checked their sources..."). Today, here, an attempt to use global goings on to illustrate the universal importance of [pausing] and re:appraising ourselves...before it's too late..."turn back now!" Otherwise, if you choose to continue this adventure, take a humble selfie, turn to paragraph #2...
As the Story (often) Goes: As in ratings, from 'greatings!😃', when things look all rosy, smooth sailing, our poll numbers are at an all time high, along with the economic forecast (which we may be tempted to take credit for😁)...and then come the gratings😖, the irritants, the situations and circumstances that either we, ourselves brought about (which we will likely not take credit for if running for office or if elected; foreshadowing here, not a spoiler alert). Real life adventures we can all relate to, as in the 'slippery slope'...not just what we have been hearing about in Sri Lanka, but many, many fluid situations, including the ones that may be happening right now in our own lives, whether we are paying attention...the ones we'll have to eventually answer for...as in...
"And the Answer is": "Villain!" The response from a real life interviewee, a political analyst, an apparent expert on local history and politics, when asked "How will the former (Sri Lanka) president be remembered?" The one that we became more familiar with lately, in this island country's "Choose your own..." which eventuated in President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, (apparently) making the quick decision, "If you choose to continue this adventure by staying and watching your palace be stormed by protestors, your pool occupied, turn to page...or if you choose to flee, do now before it's too late, and take some of your riches with you..." So may other iterations on this theme...
Three Parts 'dis'(?) Harmony: Yet another 3-Sum, which went from re:galing the masses with praises, presents, pretensions...to the time of re:igning...to a time of great/grate re:veal, a more critical analysis, which could, especially if those ruling rule with either an iron fist, unbridled arrogance, sans humility ("If they had only reigned in their egos..."), experience a different kind of rain ("it all came raining down on me!"), and culminate, the adventure at hand climaxing, with one final comment from the local expert: "he will be re:viled!".
Always Timely: Re:appraising, checking ourselves, especially following any time of praising, a good choice in Our Own Adventures...
