Re:ality TV: The Tides, Ides of Life, Inside Ousters...Highs, Lows, ebb, flow...
Enough Already! As in "I've had it up to here! I've heard more than I want already from this blogger on the 2015 Pixar film "Inside Out" Well, alrighty then...to be clear, I do not intend today, right here, to make refence to one of the five major feelings/characters depicted, that we can all relate to, universally experienced, during various adventures in our own lives...instead, today, here and now, I'll present some re:al time footage of stuff happening locally as well as globally, that we can also all re:late to...ranging from those when we seem to be riding a crest of a wave, perhaps even enjoying immense popularity, our own poll numbers soaring, only to be slapped in a face by an "incoming!" maybe even a tsunami! A wave of negative opinion, a turn of luck in our own turnstile of life, as "on a dime" All of which, of course, can evoke any/all of the five main (unmentionable) feelings from the (now unmentionable) film...
Heating Up: "Things are really heating up around here!" Was the quote I heard multiple times this very morn, regarding the climate itself throughout Europe in particular (this, being covered by BBC after all), as well as regarding the ambient temperature in many rooms where meetings are being held by various candidates vying for office here, there, everywhere, and in every circumstance...some of which are trying to upset an incumbent who had taken the place of someone who themselves had been rudely unseated just a few days prior...whereas others are re:placing one who had re:signed but continues to re:side at a 'Prime' address, and still others trying to get an early edge as in running for 'mid-term' elections, as in closer to home for most of us. Many adventures under way, which we can all relate to, in one dimension or another, experiences that re:sonate, or otherwise registers with us, but what about having to...
Pre:register: While you can easily associate with elections, in the context of those intending on running around here getting sufficient signatures to get on the initial ballot, many of which turn out to be "null and void!"π, as well as more personally, as when you reach the legal age of voting, you need to register sufficiently ahead of your first election in order for your vote to be counted properly, for you to actually count ("early and often"π). And also outside of the polling places, an increasingly popular trend what we can all again relate to, the opportunity, even the enticements to "preregister" for an event so that when you actually arrive (literally), it's "smooth sailing"π Yep, probably something we've either done already or wished we would have, when encountering hassles, hazards "on the day of". OK, lesson learned, but what about the less common...
Pre:resignation?! As in, this morning, in as close to re:al time can come, one of the candidates vying for office announced "I'm withdrawing my name from contention, conceding the votes...putting my support behind a rival..." You just never know where support will come from (whether "Inside, Out"), nor your adversary, your ouster, as in "hold your friends close, your enemies..." Yep, from mid-month ("Beware the Ides of March") to mid-terms, even in the midst of 'mid-life', experiences and lessons of life we can all appreciate, even capitalize on, wherever and whenever we are at...
