"Twitter, clatter, what's all this chatter?!" Up on the roof top, all through the House, re:divided
"Do you see, hear what I..."♫
Be-fore the be-holding: and just following a brief time of being united, at least "gathered together", whether for a "good cause" or just 'cuz, (the latter being what many parents tell their children as to why, once a year, we force ourselves...) we find ourselves, here, U.S., once again a House divided (at last count one party has control of the upper, the other a slight advantage in the lower😕😕, in our "bicameral legislature", almost as if by design). Almost two years ago to the day, right here, in the safety and freedom of this space, I informed you of the many ways, way before the most recent House races, clashes, factions were predicted, from those that were previously mis-LED (like a light bulb suddenly, or more gradually turning on), to even such an apparently benign, strands of material, could be-come an object of objection...insidious, divide US..."Tinsel Town!" (see 12/3/20 for the full experience). And so we find ourselves again, divided, as we, after giving thanks embark on this new Advent-ure...but be-fore you click off, thinking I will cast negative light on what is other-wise fore-casted to be a "bright lights" season, regardless of which holiday you, yourself, celebrate the most this time of year...can't we all just agree to disagree...even find a bit of humor in what's other-wise issues that could, if we don't temper ourselves become un-becoming, our un-doing...di-visive? Including, but not exclusive to...
A-dorning: The ongoing debate, of what we put on our objects of affection, most often a tree, but now even including, for those previously felt ex-cluded, a ("FesitivUS!") pole. What to top it off with, what type of celestial body, ranging from what's being passed off as an angel (but now re-sembles...?) or various iterations on "star bright star night, first star I see..." And, above and beyond, gazing into the sky, we are find ourselves divided as eye witnesses, as to what direction to cast our gaze and even, in the ad-vent that we are all looking the same way at the same exact time, from the same location, we find reasons to de-bate, as to what type of celestial..."It's a bird, it's a plane..." (from the 1966 musical "Superman", an update on what many of US boomer gen watched, literally)..."a red light, blinking must be a flying reindeer, a harbinger of the Big Guy, finally coming our way...better get to bed..." "...could be my imagination playing tricks on me, but I think I just got a glimpse of ArtemUS..." "Awe, it's just the north star, it comes out every night, if you would just bother to come outside, cast a glance..." Whether we are looking above or below, the tree for example ('skirting the issue'), re-gardless of what (non)sense we choose to en-gage...there's always those who will agree, maybe even follow US...
All in, out on glitter, now it's Twitter: As I said here, even two years past, we can always find things to argue about, updated here and now to in-clude even where and when, and with whom...as in who should control the air-ways, the ways in which we "air our grievances" (a must-do in prepping for "Festivus", at least according to the cast, writers of "Seinfeld"), who might have un-due influence in the so-called free flow of information, ideas...opinions! in this new "Information Age", who will eventually control what we watch what we listen to, hear, and when...Info, aging: out with old, in with the new...
Tik-Tok: "...hickory dickory Docs, the House ran out of clock..." Or, "...not a creature was stirring, as kids were still clicking their mouse" A house divided, that never sleeps...a slippery slope, indeed...one where we can also find ourselves sensing division, rolling downhill...complain about the things we can't really control...Mother Nature (our very nature), the weather! More specifically, considering the time of year and depending on your respective locale, types, amounts, forms...of precipitation, that can itself pre-cipitate an argument about how best to experience, en-gage (or not!)...
Snow-shooing: the overs and unders among US, that is. Do you, yourself, at least the first time each pre-winter, late fall, see this white fluffy stuff float down like little angels in and of themselves, no two alike, alighting on your outstretched tongue, welcoming, even consuming this first snowfall of the year. Which, given sufficient qualities and quantities may allow you to traverse, even slalom down, back and forth, down the slopes, on whatever new gizmos they are showing for the snow, to slap on your feet, some high tech snowshoes, many iterations after those, what appeared to us to be re-purposed tennis rackets, in reverse...This, while many of you, amongst US, would just as soon "shoo, fly, away..." get out from under "all this slop!" Whether you are one to stay inside this time of year, or the kind that have purposefully bought some gear that was purposed for this type of weather (outerwear, under)...no matter where you find yourself...
In, around the (snow) Globe: Weather, whether you are the type to take your local meteorological trends for granted, as representative of the rest of the world, you may be interested to note that most of the world (about a 2/3 majority) have never seen the white fluffy stuff that we initially celebrate, even make statues, dressed up even, to re-semble the original, "Frosty", properly adorned (which was frequently a subject of debate in our house, sometimes settled prior to Him melting away, "...back again some day🎝"). And annually, all around the globe, sing a perennial favorite, longing for this stuff, the opening line of which conjures up at least images for those 'have-nots' -- "I'm dreaming of..." And, even for those who have never had direct contact, thanks to an inventor, early in the 20th century inadvertently, accidentally (according to written, and the few eye-witness accounts), manage to create the very first snow globe! Which now come with so many scenes and songs to fit every occasion and mood. And, yet another way in which we find ourselves a house divided...into those who incessantly shake it up and those who like to move it to where the natural light might cast a more "natural glow"...
Legend has it: Which is why, to this very day, the beginning of the Big Advent-ure, we still find amongst US, and around the entire world, globe, the "Movers and the Shakers"!
