What Mary Meant, Part 2: Inn Re-View

Upon Approach: As in what I wrote here about, in several posts, leading up to Christmas morn, as well as the day after ("What, re-turn of Merri-ment?). How This whole Thing started, the one you woke up early for, especially if you still have little ones, as in "children nestled in their beds" accompanied by sugar plum fairies, of all things, whose early risings may have been responsible for "I sprang out of bed to see what was the matter..."  As in waking 'with a start', but more likely, given your state of sleep deprivation, still in a dreamy state yourself, just starting to wake up (as depicted by the dad in "Christmas Story", a host of others). But can you imagine, on the other hand, what words you could muster up, upon hearing the ones from the angel Gabriel to Mary, the ones that instigated this whole journey, that for much of the world, continues to this day, in one form or another..."Do not be afraid..."

Few and Far between, on Occasion: Words that Mary herself spoke, the ones that the Bible included, the first of which included her response to the angelic message, "Behold, you have found favor with God" and, despite being a virgin, "you are with child". Whereupon, in the accounting in the book of Luke, starts with a question, from Mary, and ends in the affirmative. After which we hear, via Bible quotes, from Mary only sparingly, but we become increasingly aware that she was "here" and "there" as with her child, Jesus, from cradle to beyond the grave...an unfailing servant, mother...

Upon Arrival: After the journey was instigated by an angel, it became 'taxing' -- as in traveling to Bethlehem to be taxed, literally, as was the custom and law, of the land. An arduous journey, a dusty trail, given the geography and sans Uber, but instead on "donkey back". A journey, according to more than one account, results in a late night arrival, at an Inn, only to be told...While further research has shed light on the absence of an actual "begrudging innkeeper" they (Joseph, expectant Mary) are nonetheless relegated to what were considered at least austere quarters, and through our imaginations, without a written account of what Mary said, we are left wondering, under these conditions, what would you say...?

And the Angel said: "Hi, you don't know me but I have your brother" This, issued to a sister from an anonymous caller, on behalf of Joseph ("Joey"), who first presented to the angel Sha'Kyra on Christmas eve, 2022, in the form of crying out, from a snow bank, which he apparently fell into, unable to explain it in full, in part due to his hypothermic condition complicated further by a condition from birth which rendered him, at age 64, more like a child, at least intellectually. The angel and her partner proceeded to take Joey in, provide first aid from head to toe as if he were their own and, along with a few others who rallied to his cause via a call-out on social media, even on such an eve as this, then drove him to the hospital...all the while being comforted by his now personal angel, Sha'Kyra, who was quoted by the source, "SweetBuffalo716.com" ..."No one is going to hurt you honey" In my own mind, these words of encouragement, protection, and nurturance easily translate into ones from those issued from an angel from ages past, "Do not be afraid"...

Words, Inn Deed: Sha'Kyra, Magnificat!
