"I'm Nobody's Fool" (At least not today...)

"I mean it...this time...!" That is, "If you don't quit foolin' around, you're finally gonna' lose ...I finally mean it, this time...You may have fooled me once, shame on you, twice, the shame was on me, and this thrice time, not nice at all, worthy of..."

"Your shoes are untied!" On of the oldest pranks known to...man-kind, at least since shoes started coming this way. "No, I'm deadly serious" said rather prosaically, according tio the hundreds of UCLA college basketball players that the stellar coach John Wooden showed, as in the first thing he (re)taught them, was the right way to put on their shoes and socks. A man of reason, he reassured them it was not a prank, as he was just trying to prevent blisters and other issues that could potentially bench them. No hoax, the joke was on the opposing teams, if you look up Coach Wooden's unparallel success...

"Overnight sensation" Hardly. As the Council of Trent that took place from 1545 - 1563 (can you believe it?! No joke) finally issued a decree (aka "edict") that charged the reining pope to fix the problems that they had identified in the Julian calendar, one which had been deemed just fine since the days of Caesar, BC...which took two decades for the pope and his lot to figure out...as in Pope Gregory XIII (ergo, "Gregorian calendar" , who signed yet another order -- no bull! as in a "papal bull" which derives from the Latin "bulla" -- which, among other things reset the beginning of the year to January 1st, leaving those still marking the beginning of the year to correspond to late March - early April, out in the cold, as being quite silly, ergo "fools!". Speaking of which overnight, around here Mother Nature decided to prank us with raining cats and dogs all night. Well, OK, couldn't pull that off, but believe you me, if my hundreds of zoom calls the past year are any indication, cats and dogs still reign in many households, big time...

"It's always something" "If it's not the calendar changing, then it's taxes going up...you trying to do, make me sick?!" A few signature, trademark quotes from "Roseanne Roseannadanna", played by no other than Gilda Rander who, along with five other talented "Not Ready for Prime Time Players" brought us humor by poking fun at just about every institution...no taking yourself too seriously around these pranksters...Sorely missed, as are their writers as anyone who bothers to stay up that late these days are frequently disappointed, given the predictability...

"No surprises here..." Nor creativity, eh? But wait, just wait one minute...just when you were ready to give up and/or thought you were in the clear, after you let your guard down, even for a minute...a new wave..."what's old is new again" ...As in "Gucci, Louis Vuitton, even without nothing on...𝅘𝅥𝅮"

"Made you look!" "Gotcha!" That you did, Meghan

Good Taste and Timing, always in style: Happy April (everybody's a) Fools Day!
