"What a rip-off!" Many happy returns. 

Feeling a bit wist-full? No, while I may have punctuated in a non-orthodox fashion, I pronounced it correctly, without a lisp, that is -- "wistful" -- 1) a state of yearning or desire; 2) musingly sad: pensive. In either case, often in the context of a return to that old "yesteryear" time (aka "nostalgia"), especially the days we viewed as being the ones they refer to as "halcyon" (frequently mispronounced)...the zest-fullness for which may even call for...

"Anarchy!" Well, something that might sound like it, but look just short of it, as in the French word that I found this morning that comes closest to "rip-off" --"arnaquer" which, at least in the version I came upon was pronounced homonymous-ly. The experience of which, based on the news report of what's going on "over there" that has the French, including what's called the pending "pensioners" (here simply called the ones prepping for retirement) all up in arms, due to the government, after realizing the current 'pyramid scheme' -- no, not "scam", but an actual pyramid, scheme, built from actuarial tables😕😔, that has traditionally had lots of younger, working gens, putting enough in to support the ones who are now taking their "well deserved!" pensions...but the tables have now turned, and the pyramid has essentially turned upside down...and thus, the French public has turned out in droves, striking, refusing to provide the services, many of which are funneled through the same government...All this due to the government passing legislation to allow those who have put into the system to take it out in increments, starting at 64 rather than 62. While they may have more history on their side, it's about time that they finally came upon a term to describe such financial 'upside down' circumstances...as we 'boomers' started yelling "what a rip-off!" well before we started actually paying "into the system"...a "system" we came to know as "Social Security" (coded as FICA on our early 'paystubs') the "Security" of which has been threatened by our own demographic trends. What a scheme..."Arnaquer!" indeed. We over here sympathize with You over there. But otherwise, "it's about time you figured this out...join the crowd!"
