Search for the Lone Survivor - aka "Signs" of Intelligent Life...a buy, then gone era...

"Let buy gones be bygones...won't ya?!" So said, pled, the lone surviving representative of what's here and now, from all that are present in what We Our Selves have come to terms, as the "Worth-less" Gens, refer back to Them as the "Clue-less" -- the ones that had access to all the information and history of good, SOUND judgement, and SUSTAINABLE fiscal policy...instead passed on to many generations in the future a level of debt that, "at least in theory" as They were so fond of saying, when inventing, dreaming up these numbers, which were eventually, after an exhaustive search, were made up by two elements or what They used to call, in hard science, two states of matter. Which included "Blue smoke and mirrors" which magicians, especially the subset We still call illusionists, made things magically disappear...whereas these politicos from the evacuated House thought They could make the debt disappear, vanish! with the stroke of pen...right before Their very eyes...only re-appearing in the hands of a Generation unmet -- kind of like when the magician pulls a card out from behind the ear of an unsuspecting Simon, in "America's Got Talent" So, We finally traced down one who survived, at least in the form of a hollow-gram...which allows Us a bit of Give-and-Take, back-and-forth, the kind of semi-extemporane-US debates They entreated...more like subjected, their constituents to...which used to represent a modicum of intellectual rigor but, eventually, like what We have witnessed in their so-called "sound fiscal policy"...down graded to name calling...and not very inventive ones, at that. But at least We still have some left-overs, as in a few clues, in-sights as to what They were really thinking about, these Posers! -- the ones that posed to the other ones of Them, in the House at that time, an era gone way buy...that if they did or, on the other hand, did not pass the bill on the floor of the House to raise the ceiling, and invest in the next generation...

"If Only": Two words that, when used in this combination, succession still, today, in Our new time of Worthless-ness still convey, are used to express a wish, especially of regret -- as in "If only that were the case, turned out to be true...that They really were looking way into the future, on Our behalf..." 

"Turns Out": Two other words, syllables, when used consecutively, conveys what may have actually happened, ends up, results...even surprisingly...

"Surprise!" A two-syllable word, a conveyance of astonish-meant, about how things actually turned out...which a several generations ago, in the midst of watching what they were somewhat skeptical, turned out, other than those posing as being certain about an outcome, which the skeptics may have used in an act of mockery...questioning Their judgement, logic...

"If and only If": A short phase We stumbled upon as one that used to represent, at least before this Clue-less gen arrived on the scene, in fields of what were referred to Then as Math and Philosophy...a bi-conditional connection between two statements...such as the "debt ceiling" and "avoiding default"...Now experienced in Our Worth-less state, as "Insufficient Funds" and "Insufficient Funds" -- no matter which order, the experience is the same old, same old, as if they could not see the forest nor the trees, perhaps blinded by greed...Which brings Us back to this hollow-gram, who owes US some answers...

"No Ifs Ands, or Butts...!" Just a slight modification of what elders used to say to children to squash and argument and get down to business...

"As If" as in "As if that was the end of this...but N-O-O-O!" -- it was as if the hollow-gram, pre-programmed for just such a situation, manages to get in the last word(s), of protest, no less: "It wasn't my idea, I was just a (co)signer...I tried to tell them this would not be well received..." Which only serves to unite US...

"If Only...they had bothered to think of US rather than Them-selves all the time...if only they had bothered to ask US...who said taxation without representation is a form of tear-N-knee...?!" 

"Let US put it to a vote..." Easier said than done, as in trying to veto once its signed, sealed...Our fate...
