A Pre-Cautionary, Pre-Cedent setting message...in a bottle.

"Don't be pre-Mature" A note to my-self, actually, a reminder not to return to the "return to work" mini-series, but also a reminder to U.S. all...about what we might want to take care of around our House prior to the simple, almost brainless, putting ourselves, at least our emerging 'Autonomous Vehicles' on the optional feature, "Auto Pilot"😔😕😟! One we can easily find our-selves, as "creatures of habit". While those returning to the "daily commute" may find a few new wrinkles, cracks, and potholes this spring/summer, it is just short of inevitable that we will easily forget the time spent away...it will become, once again an "all-too-familiar" path to and through the door of our respective workplaces...Which I still intend, through a few dedicated posts, which I hope will only serve to sustain you, whether "back at the office" or simply in the back room where your "home, office" has resided well before the pandemic reached our shores...

"H-m-m-m..." Another form of "an introjection used to express hesitation or contemplation..." In other words, a way to avoid pre-maturity of speaking or acting ("on this bill"???) prior to thinking about the "full ramifications"...There are, of course times and places, in Our history here, and there..."a time and place for..." stepping up, without worrying about your own personal security...while at others taking time out, to fully consider the fuller measure...how We might be leaving Them "without recourse" if acting here, in the "Ways and Means"...US, the "Appropriations"...Committees, made up of an individual who is the so-called "chair" but is actually, at least in principal, a person in "good standing" who, along with the "ranking member" from the so-called "minority" party -- along with a host of others -- 41 in the former case and 59 in the latter...If you are one of those fact checker types who, like me, annoy the hell out of whoever is watching a move with me, has to endure my remote "pause" to see tid-bytes about the actor, etc. Whereas here, in the context of our U.S. history, you might find, be reminded of what and how many 'learned folks' it takes to fund both you and me, once these bills are conceived of, debated, and finally...passed on...to other Committees. You might also find, as I was informed by Wiki-bytes, that the W&M group was funded, I mean founded, in 1795, while the secondly noted Committee was fully "formed" 😕??? in 1865. And if my basic math is correct, the first came together formally just six years after the first federal budget -- a whopping $639,000.00 needed to be disbursed -- a HUGE amount ('paltry sum' by today's standards, drop in the bucket, what you might expect these days at the bottle return) which, of course, called for a Committee(s) to first assemble, then deliberate, disseminate...

"Coming together" As in committee members, called to meet and either authorize the funding via "taxation", or the disbursement via "appropriations" -- the powers of both and authority are accounted for, embedded in, the "Constitution of the United States" -- including all its articles, sections, clauses...that collectively give me pause, as I continue to be in awe of the thought, actions, and personal sacrifices Our founders...the extent Our Forefathers went to, on our behalf...

"The least We could do..." Is to take a few minutes to reflect, contemplate, on just what it took to get here...may spark some interest in learning about our earlier history, before lighting up the grills as well as those omni-present girandoles ("word of the day" brought to me this time by Merriam-Webster...) which were found as early as the 10th C. in the Song dynasty in China, as propulsion systems to assist the flight of arrows, and much later over here in the form of "the rockets red glare..." Not to be confused with "water rockets" which rely on H2O for its "reaction mass..." 

"Is to learn from Them..." The history lessons They left U.S. with. Let alone show appreciation today and those to follow.
