The Long View, In Short
Here, regard-less: That is to say, I'm here on your behalf, "loyal to a fault" (bordering on "burnout" due to over-doing it, regardless of whether my employer asked me to stay after or I, as a self-employed individual...), providing you, regardless of whether you are an occasional or more loyal follower here, with a post consideration post -- a reflection on this whole job search which inevitably led to being first, considered, a finalist..."welcome"...sent home...only to be called back (assuming you are considered at least 'semi-essential'). Regardless of when or where this post may find you 'working' (continuously being redefined re-engineered, as in Europa style first, eventually finding its way to Our shores). Regardless, whether you are a worker-to-be ("what do you want to do when you, finally, grow up, now that you've reached the age of majority for the 10th time over?") a wannabe, or a 'has-been' ("Wow, they're paying you that much to start...even after 30 years I never got paid such a wage, even for a honest day's work..."). And whether you, as a laborer, do so attired with a blue or white collar, toil in the fields (to bring us farm to market to table, land-a-plenty of workers represented at each point in the 'food chain') or one, after "labor and delivery" endeavors to "make this house a home" -- the latter of which has always been, while taken for granted on the one hand, rated among the most honorable and noble professions -- brought to our attention every year in May via a 'pro'-rating of what they would, should be paid if their various occupations were considered in full -- and brought home to me a few years back, in the presence of some puzzle-meant on my part, discerning what it meant, in the space provided for "Current Employment" a mother printed (as requested) "SAHM"..."Don't look puzzled doc, it's con-textualized "Stay-At-Home-Mom". Upon consideration, after further internal review ("Wow, after all these years, I thought I had seen and heard it all...") I replied, fully composed, "But you're hardly ever there, always on the go, carting them around and such..."...Famous, lasting words, "Exacta-Mundoy, Tuesday!"
Above All: Regardless of who you are as a person seeking, currently employed, or enjoying the life of what over There is called a "pensioner"...whether you are receiving cash, trading services (i.e., "bartering" to 'simplify' your tax filing), a more contemporary "direct deposit" type, or just getting an occasional vote of approval...And, whether or not you first, by your parents, first employer given words of encouragement (now oft referred to as "affirmations!"). And, finally, at the end of the day, upon reflection, when asked about your work history, a historical reference, or more intermittently, to keep Us going, two words conveying all the foregoing...Short and sweet, "Good Job!" (Or "Job well done!" if you prefer the longer version).
Not Done, not quite: Next, How this all began, ended up...
