A wake-up call; a shrill chill.

"Well, glad you could join us...": This, following the morning wake-up call, after what may have been a pro-tracted period of stretching, yawning, you-tubing...a greeting that may be tinged with just a bit of sarcasm. Nonetheless issued from someone whose duties are plenty-full and who, while readily recognized, underappreciated...until...

Cluing You in: For those of you just joining in for the first time, who not only missed the first 590 posts here, but the most recent on the first of this month, which was designed to whet your appetite, entice you to return for yet more clues into a person(s) whose identity is partially indicated by what they are wearing and the power, authority they carry but, on the other hand, are hardly recognizable, as they tend to just fade into the background, doing their duty...No, it's not the "dude in the red hat...Commercial Man" whose mere presence, when he steps onto the field, even the officials come to attention, as it signals it's time for a (probably prolonged) break, for our many sponsors (it takes a lot these daze with all this NIL stuff going around...special jerseys and helmets almost every week, so it seems...) -- depending on who has the so-called "momentum" (a well-worn word by the commentators, which also refers to "cadence" in signal calling, in American football) -- and if you are a fan in the stands versus someone who can DVR the game and pause the "pause" for commercials...In any case, a person who is sometimes derided for assuming too much control. Speaking of, depending on how much you have consumed by this point in the game, this underappreciated individual at least allows you a "time out" yourself, to run to the nearest "facility" and return for what's probably one more commercial, before he finally steps back off the field. And play resumes. While this would be a good guess, and it's probably a person we will see on the field of play at recess! in the future (given the commercialism that is gradually creeping in, if my neighborhood playground is any indication, with signs featuring come local merchants), it's a near miss😢😉.

Still Clue-less: As in needing more clues, at least elaboration, defining features. Herein are all the ones you should need: From early AM until well after the sun has faded from the field, playground, this may be 1) someone who sacrifices themselves for the good of the group with little or no recognition; 2) who has done something heroic or achieved greatness but not celebrated, at least not proportionately...

Leave You wanting more...clues, that is? OK, on a more subtle, level the person(s) of interest, the ones that make all this possible...who a) woke up, not expecting, not in their overall plans for the day, which would understandably find them b) a bit reticent at first, give them pause due in part to c) having their plans interrupted, at least deferred, until a later time...(getting warm yet?) but who d) nonetheless called when you called...thereby holding the power to interrupt your plans, I mean schemes...as in the (probably, most likely in the form of)  a "Mom!" who came to your school, thinking she was simply filling in for what's still called "lunchroom duty" and ended up, while doing so, she was to do double duty as the playground/recess! SUPER-visor...you know, the one that gets to wear and even blow the whistle from time to time, which can really blow our schemes, I mean well laid plans, to bits...

A HUGE Thanks! to all who make it (recess!) possible. We really do, (doubly!) appreciate YOU.
