Poignant Pointing Prohibited..."Strictly enforced -- children, no longer play here"

Posted: "Recess! as you've known it, is toasted" While it's not what the sign actually says, strictly speaking, it's the cumulative affects of what the actions and collective efforts of all THOSE that have been, along the way, ostensibly...in the spirit of looking out for US school age children -- the ones that OUR fore-father, W.T. Harris, had envisioned, declared as part of OUR independence "...complete suspension of tension brought on by academics". Which came with certain rights and provisions. Or so it seemed. That is, when Recess! was actually experienced as a time of Rest and Recreation...slowly but surely came to include a whole list of Rules & Regs...the required recitation of which would easily consume such a limited period of time allotted...

"What's the Point?!" What exactly was THEIR intention when THEY began to first abridge our Recess! time and access points? Guess THEY did not read from the same history book WE learned about the very First Amendment, which pretty much covers it...as in what Mr. Harris conceived of as access to playground rights, privileges, of each and every student, regardless of...But I guess, WE should have read the so-called writing on the walls...

"Up against..." As to what WE gradually learned WE were up against, what I pondered as part of my "time out!" which found me, literally standing up against the wall, along with a few of my buddies, making us watch all the others. I'm talking about "Cruel, unusual...punish-meant" GEEZ! This, after I simply tried, as I was told first by the First ("redress...") and then by my own teacher..."go out and get some fresh air" The cumulative affect, of course, being a time of 'erring our grievances' -- a time we waited all morning for, just to "get even!" which WE learned was no longer allowed, via hand-to-hand combat, and came to include even finger pointing...

"It's point-less" As I just testified, due to possible dis-interpretations, WE are no longer able, even during Recess! to make any hand gestures "What-so-ever!" In these daze of so-called "Zero Tolerance!" (which apparently replaces a time I grew up in, which actually promoted...Tolerance). Which is why, perhaps a partial explanation for students on play-grounds these daze, found simply strolling around, as in aim-less, with their hands in their hands in their pockets, given the now, "hands free" access...I mean, why even have Recess! if We are no longer allowed to have a brief time of bragging rights, or even allowed to compliment another class-mate. Which now, way before Mr. Harris conceived of Recess! but was probably inspired by rights and privileges that were initially spelled out..."endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights..." These rights that apparently don't apply to US outside the four walls, while told to "go and let it all out" find instead, WE are no longer able to capitalize the word ("Creator") nor utter, even in a whisper..."well endowed"...anything butt. I mean "Come on, already, who gave THEM the right to take the "F" word out of Recess! It's just no F-U-N any-more...have We really come to this...

Point of no return...Which, in Our estimation, those among US that feel that this 'thing' is still worth fighting for...just beyond the tipping point. Or so THEY thought...
