Surf AND Turf, from toe to toe...
Foward and Back...Mo' Meant-um: As in maximum push off allowed, especially at the very start of the race, other-wise referred to an "event"...which itself, can be very event-full...full of tension, after an (intentional?) build-up, as in whose in which lane, adjacent to, allowing them even the slightest of advantages (known, owned as in "Lane Four" in swim competitions and "sprints" on turf, a semi-earned, yearned for, position), according to...the laws and physics, which join together with all those rule makers...
False Starts: It's all about anticipation as well as what's still referred to as "reaction time" -- the combination of which can either give the runner/swimmer in question even the slightest of advantages, at least deemed by the commentators ("off to a strong start") or, as we, the movie goers that went to see it, "Boys in the Boat" got "left in the wake" and had to make up a lot of...ground (?) in the 1936 Berlin Olympics...as if it was predestined, as in pre-race instructions that were given to the official, in another language (as in scripted, "what did they say...?!"). Used to be almost poli-ticized, as in, during the "Cold War" the tension regarding who would be deem disqualified, actually heated things up quite a bit...well, following the departure from Berlin, where the "boys" in question managed to make it out JIT with their gold still in hand...the Nazi party giving way to what became known in subsequent Olympic events as "East versus West" (as in a "divided Germany, wall") and the then "Soviet block"...speaking of...
Blocks, getting blocked in, boxed out...talk about pressure...next (a few more pre-Paris postings prior to returning to another rotation, as in "batting around...")
