The run-up, down: What's often termed, in terms of coverage of a larger event, larger scale...All in, out of order, in order to get you, out there to tune in...

Capture, your audience: As in "here come all the athletes, primary candidates..." Followed, in turn by...all their...

Athletic supporters: (short for who wears 'em, "Jocks!") and how to hold onto them, especially when getting what's called, in sports, "faked out!" 😟 Which may or may not follow, "in any (HUGE, tele-casted) event"...accompanied many times by either a drum roll or trumpet or two...Which allows them, the ones that are responsible for the big "Roll out event!" other-wise for the ones that were wise enough to tune in, out before getting what's known in "Caveat Emptor" language as "suckered in"...AKA "Walk with us, feel what it's like to be treated to..." 

Red Carpet treatment: An event, in and of itself, the last several...decades, from the Oscars, on to the MLB, and now, just to see what they are, mostly not...what's trending in Parisian Olympic wear. Which, every four years (is it coincidence or con-venience?) comes in the "wash and where-ever" variety fair, frequently preceded, if not immediately followed by all those "anti" as in "we don't sweat, we glow...together😰😎" ads...

The preceding program: "Just in case you missed the ads..." In this case, in case you missed it, this year's MLB ALL Star week featured, not only the red-carpet version of "glitz, glamor...Grand Glam!" we have come to strongly associate with this (inter)national past time, but a few daze prior to the Home Run Derby ("going for the fences!" more often than usual)...also allow all of us amateurs, a few of which are actually what we Olympic purists term "true amateurs" a glimpse of where "They" hang out when not actively competing...Where else...

It's the Village, Idiot. Where, according to the amount of clandestine coverage, dis-creet interviews, and otherwise distribution of personal de-vices (AKA con-dumbs) there's not much resting up, going on...

"On a roll" What's in Jeopardy, no question about it, while not quite a foregone conclusion...next.
