Between: The (bottom) lines...the ones that found you, in (de)pressed..."bottoming out" AKA - "flat on your ---!"🤣ing out loud...😢ing inside... 

Criss Cross: As in going outside your lane, prior to the place indicated on the track, where "it's now allowed...within reason..." Which can also be experienced in another venue doubly so..."it's as if they falsified, otherwise hid their lack, of qualifications, until it was too late, when the decision was made, the votes...tallied..." 

Cross categorical: This, despite at last two days "head...start" as in "Do's don'ts of run-offs" I ran down for all who bothered, aka a "heads up" on the competition...But perhaps you think you're...

Better Off: Knot knowing, that you were the "Cause Celebre" that brought un-due attention, that e-ventually became your un-doing...one that in swimming, for example, may only be re-vealed after "touching out..." whereas in another "athletic" e-vent that, by contrast, has more of an imaginary line, wall-ish line (only see-able by viewers at home) find the runners puffing their chests out, other-wise attempting (literally)..."nosing out their competition" -- at least that's what, after many "further reviews" re-vealed, as the first portion of their co-called "countenance" counted, as the one that...

Falling Out: Of favor...can happen to anyone, even in a...Jiffy, Pop! -- which, in contrast to some other products we used to...use, as in ones we "knew and loved", then turned our backs on...JP continues to be "one of the few brands that continues to sell popcorn in pre-packed pans ready for cooking..." -- a brand that brings to mind not only the heat of the kitchen and campfires, but warm memories, other-wise referred to as reverie. But what about all those products and people that, once considered "indispensable" are now, anything but...a distant memory. An all-star line-up (nice timing, connection with MLB, eh?). No Wonder...Woman,  that is, who is now keeping company with Zero Gravity, Sour Patch Kids, Blondie, M&M Monster, Guardians (no, not the ones that replaced the Cleveland -------, which the MLB decided was in poor taste), all the way back to Jurassic Park...Yep, people and name, brands have been getting Dis-continued, even after getting DQ'd, as in the flavors, versions of "Blizzards" that we once...

Took a liking to: That eventually, almost (un)eventfully, fell out of sight. As in "Dairy Queen Blizzard favors we'll probably never eat again..." Talk about getting licked! (a 'throwback' to how getting beat badly was sometimes characterized, in b-ball, poly-ticks, add infinitum). As in another voice from the past whose stories that were delivered to us almost daily, via his "firm staccato" ..."Now you know the rest of the story...Paul Harvey...Good Day!" (When was the last time you heard, read, appreciated such a sign off?).
