Aftermath: After the math and numerical recombinants of "style" points, combined with "level of difficulty" or, more simply put, whose gold, silver chain managed to break through the finish line (laser), who first donned their country's flag ('at the ready' it seems) and then perhaps a wreath around their neck ("careful, don't get tangled with the rest of the golden leaves already there...") and then, finally, with some precious metal...

Taxing: Especially if you're the host, with the third most, at this juncture. Taking the old saying "give and take" to a whole other level. That is, no sooner did the French athletes start celebrating the premium  podium prizes, in the form of Euros these days, they found the medal around their neck to be a bit heavier, as in carrying tax burdens, based on yet another "snap decision" on the part of French government..."Five golden rings...𝅘𝅥𝅮"

Whereas the one riding atop the deck as well as the deck itself are often found to be "decorated" as the word (bedecked) implies...in the form of tattoos, in the case of the operator, and many various logos reflecting their sponsors...But if they're to catch up to their NASCAR friends, they've got a lot of catching up to do, as well as space, to fill, on...

Poop decks: From the French "la poupe" (butt where else?) it's a bit ironic that, while located in the aft (you heard me right),...back end, of a ship, it's also elevated rather than found down below...And on more modern warships the functions usually reserved for the poop area (aka deck) are now found on what's referred to as "the bridge" which, in the case of the most modern day Olympics, has been named...
