A Sorry State, of Affairs: "Don’t be, be-moaning..." (C 10/14)
"We're all alone..." Not exactly his words, those coming out of the mouth of the one that we were all looking to, for words of encouragement...isn't that why they made him the coach, for both pre, post-game speeches that are designed, then delivered, in such a way to get us up, for the matter at hand...? What he actually said was "...no one's going to feel sorry for us, despite these tough #@&*! circumstances...it's up to us to pick each other up..." OK, now we're talking...
Depth chart: Where individuals as well as .orgs go to, as in looking down, dig deep into one-self to pull your own-Selfie up by your Meta-forical boot straps, and who, if anyone might serve as less-than-ideal sub, under the circumstances, which frequently occur with minimal notice...given the nature of the game, the mounting injuries that occur even before the first official kickoff of the regular season, as in training camp...
Um-m, Limited options: What our home fans experienced after our home team exited the playoffs, as to who, what to watch, who to shift our alliance to, on the way to the championship...here comes Netflix with unlimited documentaries of earlier "halcyon daze..." featuring champs we grew to know and love. Starting to feel better? Well, there's also that other "never-say-die" attitude that comes from who else but the coach in the zoom room, there to remind us that we are actually not completely alone in this...
Shared burden: "The yokes on you..." And on me. When I finally figured out that the yoke, while adding a few pounds itself, is designed to allow for sharing of the load, to pull forward together. Pulling together as a couple, whole family, community, or a team, especially under circumstances that we come to experience as burdening, such a loss of key player...leaving the playoffs prematurely -- Lions and Tigers, respectively...find us in that familiar position...
Backs against the wall: While not, for most, an ideal position, given our familiarity with our home field, allows us to utilize every toe, finger hold, to either climb up, or push off -- whatever is called for -- "I got it!" in bball, when on outfielder calls off another...using this condition (which can be literal for the sports world, more imaginary but just as tangibly Xperienced, for the rest of us amateurs) to our advantage, to put our opponent...
Against the ropes: If giving them plenty already, hasn't found them all tangled up...It's still up for debate how much rope to allow them, while furthering our own ends...
Breaking the fall... as in a soft landing. This will likely require a whole team…of economists, given the despair-ity of opinions…
Relatable, debatable...As to how much we can, should expect, whether it comes to empathy, sympathy, and other forms of come, passion...under these "dire!" circumstances....
Out-pooring: After looking outwards for help, as our own home teams are/will be doing, to solicit assistance in so-called key positions (key for any .org), after no one came to help, without the lure of cold cash...to warm up the hearts of what are curiously called "free agents" 💲😁...bad for you, good for me...
Re-store: After we went out shopping, found at least a partial solution, time to come back, not satisfied with just the status quo...
Rip, Roaring... Might be a bit leaner, but it just makes us, around here, more hungry...starving to get even...
"Who's Sorry Now?!"
(Come back, for yet another warm-up: Laws of Physiques)
