"Fan, Fair (?) for the Common man..." Re-envisioned.
"A-h-h-h...Inspired" While the original version was written, in response to the entry of our country into WWII, inspired by a speech by a VP, composed by Aaron Copland, it played out over and over and VE Day, in Times Square and "the world over..." Which only makes sense and strong symmetry, since the original speech by Henry A. Wallace proclaimed the dawning of the "Century of the Common Man". Awe inspiring, as it turns out, played at so many types of celebrations, such as those "heralding something exciting...occasions where dramatic persuasion and heroic trumpet notes inspire collective pride and determination..."
"Rock on!" As in when one of my favorite groups, that incorporated orchestral themes, earliest memes, into their rock arrangements -- Emerson, Lake and Palmer's adaptation, in 1977...
Ice is Nice: Proving adaptable, even for such a cool event as when the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL, moved onto their new sheet, in the where else, would one feel collective pride, but the United Center, in 1994...
Playing out, and in: That is, no matter which sporting "venue" the sport of the moment, whatever is in season, which some under the names of "arenas, ballparks, stadiums....etc. etc. etc...
Add-Infinitum: "Again and again, the same way....forever..." How the common person now experiences, what is now commonly, softly (as in "soft sell")..."a word from out sponsor" Could not be further from the truth, its Latin roots, given the creative way that the creators of content, who are not content until every square inch of hats and gloves, cars and trucks...screen space (split screen, even!) -- you get the idea...how can you not? Plastering and pestering us fans, the ones that end up, against our initial leanings ("if they don't stop playing that commercial over and over, I'll boycott...") and even best interests, at times...given the numbers of consumable vices they feature...(literally) gambling away your (family's) future...
"Take a hike" A common response to a chronic complainer. But here and now, in this new Century, how we the new "fan-fare" are seeing this play out (and in, increasingly, with sports venues incorporating contraptions to allow for expansion, contraction, depending on the conditions...) is absorbing the increase (thus "price hike") in partial, "interval", or even whole "season ticket holder" -- for next year...given the team's now lofty position...as in just getting over, what's termed in sports and sports betting, the ever expanding "gaming" industry ..."the 500 mark" for the first time in almost a Century...
"If you bill it..." They'll still come, the ones that, despite getting let down, by the owners, executive committee, managerial staff, coaches, on down to the players who play down on the field of play..."they'll take it, like champs, chomping at the bit...hungry as they are..." Paying the fare, even when it's clearly unfair...talking about Fan-dumb here, increasingly common, always in season.
