"Gotta hand it to you..."

"Hand it over..."

Hand over fist…

"What are you handing me, here?!"

I'm talking about a smooth transition, a "peaceful transfer of power" as scene, metaphorically, as handing over the reins of government, in a democratic society...prior to making peace elsewhere, frequently featured as handing out an olive branch. Gotta start somewhere, may as well clean up our own act, prior to telling others...

"Repeat after me..." Even though he, as an individual who is representing U.S. as chief executive, may readily recall the words, passage, from eight years ago, this peace-full process is predicated on protocol.

A show, of hands...which, in the course of a meeting which follows either Robert's Rules or parliamentary procedure is one way to show approval. Or dis- as the case may be. Which, when accompanied by other acts of "civil disobedience", as MLK demonstrated -- whose memories and lessons in history will share the stage today, in some type of precedent setting event, and done often enough over time, may persuade the arc of the moral universe to finally bend, towards justice.

"Give me a hand" While not explicitly mentioned as a quote from him, his life after the White House, exemplified it, this past president who recently passed on, and passed the gavel in the form of a hammer to the next in line of those who might help those in need..."Thanks Jimmy"

We all have a hand in this.
