My Word(s)!

"Don't look surprised"

"It's early"

"As of late"

Thrice is nice: (Three) Words ("It's" being what's known as a com-pound of two, too) that put together in phrases that when put together, can eventually, if crafted correctly, by a crafty writer, can convey more than one meaning, depending on context, prior knowledge (plot or "spoil alert!").

"Banish the thought" Which when boiled down, to just one word...list of ten, will, for the coming year, according to the annual survey of Lake Superior State University, due to their miss-usage, over-use, and/or general use-less-ness, add up to...

Banishmeant: Everyone has their (least) favorites, that have either personal, professional, or universal (non)appeal. I argue, appeal, plead my case that the one they missed, that should have, could have, surely, they meant to forever banish (thus, the word of intro to this partial post) from the list...one that if they don't (x)clude could pose a threat, jeopardize my career path, even reflecting back on all those "fakers" who pretended to be afraid of the road-weighs, in order to stay at home, to "chillax" (which my profession came to call out, as "malingerers")...a word that can easily sum up this year's list, all in one...

"PHOBIC!" Which can be re-sounding when used as a noun, a modifier of another word, can imply or explicitly convey either/or, as in aversions, diversions, sub-versions -- as in "fear of substitute teaching"😨 (talk about universal appeal, should be repealed itself, based on all the PTSD-ers I've encountered in this group of unfortunates, who never saw it coming, as in spitballs, rotten apples, bugs in their...drawers). I mean what would "Fear Factor" have as its subject...matter? And what would its host, a former comedian-turned podcaster-turned, spurned (still up for debate as who avoided, feared, who)..."it was she, not me!" So says Joe...Rogan. A word, modifier that certainly, based on the LSSU criteria, "checks all the boxes" (a phrase that certainly should have been there) but if it were ever to fade out, or be explicitly, completely, once-and-for all banned from either/or spoken, written word, even "Wordle" (which, I guess, wouldn't qualify in the strictest sense, of the word game) would result, by implication in re-writing, at least editing, or even an another word we now find distaste-full..."redacted"😖...all those professional, even refereed, peer-to-peer pressured, journals ("publish or perish"😟 in academia). And what would we, throughout the world, how would I, myself, accomplish the task of dragging out, the process, an expanded version of what us shrinks could easily have shrunk..."establishing rapport...raising awareness of the true basis for their fears...apply some strategies to cope, if not rid themselves, in order to...live a more complete life..." It would, as the public has come to call for, eventuate in the over-use of..."transparency😕"...other-wise known as ("AKA" - likely to be banned soon) "The great reveal" (another obvious choice they overlooked), saving you the time and expense...

"It's utter nonsense!" And so there. (HNY!)
