Parenthetical, all hypothetical (as what he meant, despite what he said, in my own words and emphasis) - it's why they invented parentheses, right?

While we were (watching his French) - the usage of which has become more global over the years, was originally, historically (you can substitute the word "hysterically" here Mr. President, for better affect) - a term which is a a subtle request for forgiveness after using taboo language (one of his trade-marks) and one which originates from the 19th Century, when it was applied quite literally...."I meant every word I said!"...

At least someone (a Loyalist to the Crown Royal) was listening - "He uses the English language for leverage" As in every last word, of it..."I'm just getting started"
