Flag, football followers - a soft-headed approach to numbskulls

What's a foot: following a temporary flagging (as in fledgling) level of interest reflected in the ratings, which in turn has been met with an offensive surge that is in no small part due to another off-the-field engagement— namely, fans, dueling.

Side-lined: despite (the New Found Largesse) being flagged for (with)holding information — regarding the cumulative effects of concussions (now known around the league and in contact sports in general as Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy)  that took them from the field of play to a court, of law, where the offense and defense arrived at a land-mark settlement which, since 2015, has paid out over 1.2 billion to 1,600 players (no signing bonus here).

Undaunted: the owners jaunted, over and above, not only the entire defense but a whole ocean, to find some new...revenue. As well as a new group of recruits....complete with not one, but two flags butt, at least up until this moment, no helmet...

Head, examiner: "They ought to have their heads examined" was the cry. This, after just placing one finger in front of one eye ("Can you see now?!") Which gave way to a new generation of CPR - "Concussion Protocol Refresher" at the beginning of each season...

More on the following: As to what frequently follows them, well after...as in North of 40 (well before Brady at 80)
