An attrition, of contrition; a dysfunction of compunction
It's still all right, to act contrite: "Sorry I made you feel that way...but that's on you"
What's stewing on wrongdoing: "If it feels good, how can it….?"
Equivocation nation: “Sorry, but…”
Quid pro bro: “Yeah, well you hurt my feelings three years ago, so there! “
Atone by phone…”If you're calling to receive an apology, you've called the wrong number...if you're calling to offer one, hold on and I’ll try to find someone who cares…”
Be humble, You too shall stumble..." Might even fall from grace...all the way into humility.
Dr. Pausch, on the couch: "A bad one (apology) can be worse than none" From his book "The Last Lecture" which even for me, a veteran psychologist, had lasting impact...
So much so that your host, thinks needs a separate post: in "Three parts, Homily"๐๐
