Garages, their bands of resistance*
AKA "Resistance Bands!"
Which came first...? A question that has been bandied about ever since parents began imploring the youth to "take that racket outside!" Many of whom, due to the rites of passage, banded together...to resist.
Name of the game..."What are we going to call ourselves...?"
Setting the band into motion...As in overcoming the natural inertia of youth (fancy physics for "L-A-Z-Y"), it only makes sense that so many great musical movements have come out of such a crucible as, speaking generically, "The Cars" and more categorically, "The Fabulous Thunderbirds", "REO (Speedwagon)" and the girl band that muscled their way in, namely, "The GTO's" (which, of course, became a major focus of the Beach Boys)...to name but a few that might be found in a large garage called a musical museum. Along with, or following, the ones that attempted to catch up with them..."The Police". And let's not forget about the cute little import, dubbed "slug bugs!" also known the world over as The Beatles -- initially thought to be another British Invasion, but fact finding finds their haircut to be actually inspired by German youth. Which takes us all the way back to a time the "Rolling (Flint) Stones" who seem to have successfully resisted the gravitational pull, of old age, given Mick's moves....
*(only a co-incidence that I post this in the midst of our Motor City Dream Cruise)
Let’s not forget Kieth Richard🕺
