I See You…

Butt… even after you’ve regained consciousness, you’re unlikely to even get a glimpse of me…during your stay, in the ICU…given all the get-up we are wearing while we try to infuse you with some ‘get- up and go!’ - sometimes with an infusion assist. 

Unseen butt… the gang that works behind the scene, which frequently means a thinly veiled curtain, to create an atmosphere of privacy. to shield the patient, from prying eyes…except those of the I C U staff…

We can be an intimidating… I mean intimate bunch, given how we work so closely in close quarters. Made closer with added machinery, IV’s (what would an ICU be without?) - from the looks of it, we are intensifying care in order to get you back among…what’s called the general population impatient floors... 

Don’t get used to it…The worst inpatients, according to the nurses at their station, are the ones that got used to be waited on, even before pressing the "call" button...a far cry from those who were admitted via the ER, who had already become accustomed to a long waiting period...
