The ins and ouch! of phlebotomy - shot, on location
Vocationally speaking - a good place to start...locating the right spot, to needle me, as in getting under my skin. My phlebotomist is a pro at it...
"Put it (in) there!" - a friendly greeting, usually a show and shaking, of hands. But no, not with the one who draws blood for a living. It's as if I have to show her each and every time, the best place to start, the flow...of blood...
At the end of the day - each one as well as at the culmination of a career taking blood samples...being reassured, and relieved to find out, they were, pretty much in vein (given they are closer to the surface than arteries).
Got blood? If you need any you know who has an ample supply but not sure where to look, given she took them to “who knows where" …which was the closest she came to giving up, where the blood I gave, went...
Phlebotomist's creed - to make me bleed...as little as possible (so little that a handheld medical device known as a band-aid, will suffice) 😐
(a special message to those who want to enter this med specialty..."if you can just find an opening...")
