"Auld for nothing???" 

 Falling short in re-cognition, on the eve of retro

How did we get here? After starting out exchanging ‘pleasantries’ - on to “pleased to make your acquaintance” and then to “it was a pleasure to have been in your company” and the pleasurable response “the pleasure’s all mine. to be sure😉😉” And now, after some time has passed, this same acquaintance of mine upon making his acquaintance again “I haven’t even thought about you for quite some time..” accompanied by the less-than-welcoming “no one asked about you…but let me ask around once more”😒 Only can conclude it’s because he’s gotten auld himself…having made so many acquaintances that some have to go into the “forgotten” category. Something to contemplate as you are reviewing your Auldi list...Let's try this one more time (after a lot of pre-cognition)...

A re-introduction - that begins with…”Hey, don’t I know you…?” And a less-than-conclusive “must’ve mixed you up with someone I used to know…” Best comeback..."Who's asking?" 

Finally, a grin departure - "Nice seeing you again, what's-your-name" Likewise, I’m…pretty sure.
