New revenue, in revue - what we knew would...

"Come again...?"  Usually heard in context of an interrogative, in order to gain clarity, about what was already said. Perhaps about what was even already done. Whereas "One and done" has come to be associated with collegiate athletics, in particular. And finally, as in a culmination of experience, the departments trying to win them over, are huddling (indulge me for a moment to focus on American futbol and its funders) to come up with even more revenue, in order to "compete in this NIL world". It's as if they are posing as after themselves had conspired (perhaps too "aggressive" of a word) with all the other agents, of change. But, as we've heard in the world of change, it doesn't come easily, or quickly enough, for those in charge...

"Game of inches" Initially associated with football, broadened in scope and application, to any situation where you're trying to gain ground. Which is about to be realized, in a HUGE way, given that it's known far and wide in and around collegiate sports, at least, as the "Big House" which has traditionally featured the letter M in the middle, around which most of the pushing and shoving takes place. Well, of course, when push comes to shove, tradition has to give way to...

"Welcome back…home" For what else, the home opener, where you'll find not only "beer here" again, but a whole lot of other stuff to consume...in the form of "sticker shock" -- they're all over the place, including your seat number. It's what's called ushering in a new era. And why the ushers themselves, who will assist you in finding yours, are covered -- the new word is "festooned!" from head to foot, with ads and doodads, that will be, stylishly coordinated (“tastefully” according to the alumni ads) with those of the sideline dude wearing that hat that traditionally signals "commercial time out". While you, yourself, (if you're a "loyal") are expected to stay fully aware of the colors to wear each home game as if you didn't know it already, it's not so much about the game anymore, but "brand awareness" that’s up for grabs$$😫
