Flag wavering or phlegmatic? A matter of personal preference 

Which is kind the point of all this - Independence Day, 250.0

A flare for the dramatic…forget about running it up, how about sitting atop the flap pole?! (AKA "Look at me!")

A preference for pensive, pedestrian patriotism... quietly going about presenting the colors each and every morning  (a close approximation of "phlegmatic" in flag flying formulaic)  

Personally... whenever, wherever, under any political climate conditions, when the call goes out to "rise, remove your cap, place your right hand..." and participate in the singing of our National Anthem, I try to simply stand and stare at Old Glory, and let it tell me yet another story, about how "We the people..." came to be who we are today, in preparation for whatever events are about to unfold today and on into tomorrow...
