“Go Phish!”

Curtain call… and the first two words that crossed and then connected, in my mind. Word association, along with a fill in the blanks… “What’s in store for Thor…?”

Welcome departure… as in the dis-connect, from “What’s will Skuby do…out in LA without us loyal fans…?” This is where the classic titled the "Odyssey" and baseball box scores came together, this past week, a stroke of choreographic, and marketing genius, followed in kind, when Odysseus ("Ulysses" if you prefer the Latin version) finally made it back...

The Homecoming… of sorts, as in welcoming back a Swedish star - well, technically half Norwegian and the other half tilting to Zimbabwe, he was the closest the casting crew could find on short notice. The likes of which we haven’t seen on the hockey scene since Lidstrom, Zetterberg, Kronwall, Holmstrom, and Franzen, were in the lineup, who got to drink from the Stanley Cup. Which brings us to...

Mount Olympus… where else could you have crafted such a Rocket “Classic” (Thor is actually Norse in nature but since wielding a big mallet fits the bill, close enough for the Hollywood hype). Unless you believe in coincidence over myth… it was pretty much predetermined by the golf gods…that this guy named Thorbjornsen (first name Michael, a bit of a contrast to Tomas, Niklas, Henrik, and Johan, oh well) … would come out on top…of the leader board… which prompted me to run straight to the closest convenient store…where I found an ample supply of my daughter’s favorite, “Swedish Fish”, but whose price tag sky-rocketed from the days leading up to the big win. This is where the "Rocket" connection came from for me.

The question remains... if the Swedes are starting to return, can the "Russian Five" be close behind? One can only hope.
