Everyone loves   a parade, right?!  My votes for floats:   that didn’t quite make it, got re-routed... Thirst Responders - Finally. a float that recognizes those who tended to our ‘tertiary’ needs (as in after the basics have been sated) - those who tended bar, which is why we call out “bar tender!” I deduce, having to shout to be heard, above the din, once again, on such a high demand eve -- a float that comes with its own good cheer “Root…beer!” Speaking of straws... Sleighed, Deer!  Featuring a flat bed of straw, a rare breed of steed, no longer in need, given the "up, up, up!" up-dated variety which, after finally, stopping for directions "proceed, with steed, to the route" (charging station not included, naturally) Oh, and what about the driver-less ones yet to come... Swing Me states -we knew it all along…Tigers, the newest of the new, learned - “better to go down swinging then wait to be counted OUT!” In order to stand out among all those Swing States… Getting bowled over, while feeling less bull-ish (0$%!)…a freak of nature, could be forming here, in this Great Lake state, where neither of these institutions of higher learning, M/SU, might not be represented, let alone in what's now in the college ranks called the playoff 🏈picture. Whereas Iowa also has a strong showing and following, we, both of U's, here, beat them...in getting to the Rose Bowl first. So there! Now  we're talking WEIRD ! An Ad to Add - Service for You, Too Officially, on my post: An addendum, as even though I posted here on Veteran's Day, what I thought was a strong statement on behalf of all those men and women in uniform that are out there serving us, near (as in National Guard in locales declared "national disaster zones") and far (now to include "Space Force"), one which finished with issuing a word or two of appreciation. In response, what do I get? "Thanks, but no thanks" as in "no thanks are really needed here..." This out of the mouth of one who not only matriculated from the Naval Academy ("in order to save my folks tuition") but then rose to the rank, as in that of another major...accomplishment in graduating from MIT, after which he went, in naval language "below decks" as in commanding a nuclear sub, finally resurfacing, to redeploy his skills, help other young men and women getting firmly grounded, back to Annapolis, MD.  Recr...

Servers and Selfies, The Serve US Industry: Tipped off, Tapped out. "Can I, May, I, might I be..."?  The whole gamut, range of options, opportunities to be of service, as well as ways to be served, many of which are found in what's still considered the "public sector" which, in my hometown alone, include "streets, sidewalks, storm/sanitary/sewage systems, water distribution and quality,.." all the way down to "certificate of occupancy certifiers" (the latter and many others being absorbed by the city, county clerks, who do lots of good...deeds). Each and every night, assuming we welcomed him with his partner, known in our home, as simply "Chet" when we referred to him on his own, but more formally when paired with "David" as the "Huntley-Brinkley" reporting team... Distinctly Brinkley: who got called on whenever things around here, US, were on the brink... "Sow, David..." It's how I heard it, and still remember it, as he was asked to comment, well into the eve of what was casted to be his final telecast of this type, on the eve of a second coming...of the Clintons, their return to the White House...a second (merry) go round... Making History, one way or another... "Let's make history..." Said one truant to the other..."we can still make it, as our teacher tends to go off..." OR, is it... Accenting the ascent - "Die, ya critics!" A critical review: of those "glyph" marks (added to letters for emphasis) or simply to accentuate...that you may not pay a second glance. We've always known, at least after we were taught in both basic grammar and mannerisms, that it's not always what you say, but how it comes out, that...matters most. Here are but a few examples that apply to tonight's "prime time" coverage that, after care-full study...will make you the best fact chequer in the room (how I'll hear it on the morrow, due to their "shheduling" before most of you are up, via BBC - get the accent?).  Making you question, ask why, O' why:  when they've, both and their entire parties, plus the news coverage coverers, calling it "the run, up to the White House" that one would NOT wanna' be the Runner-Up' -- doesn't make cents, does it....huh? And wouldn't it also accent the experience that, when...

Ballot boxing, for the late voters: a mixed ticket   More or less: As in "I could, could not care..." Which is it? Can't both be right, right?  A degree in equivocation... "I'll stick to my convictions!" A house divided... or a divided House...which would you rather? Six of one, I mean 217.5...and... Half cocked... versus locked and loaded...is there a diff, since all arms seem to originate from...China? Stumped... versus stomped! Both come out, sounding negative to me... Leaving me/we/U.S. little choice: either/or...on to neither/nor... Proxy-mal positions: A toss out, I mean up..."Here's my proxy, you choose for me, I can't bring myself..." If only it, the ballot, were this easy... then I suppose we would get what's called a larger turn...out.  

Missed Con-Genealogy: Can't miss 2.0 Equal time and space: As in bringing you, as a public servant, yet another campaign classic...a "can't miss!" that apparently went either unnoticed or underappreciated by the other side of the aisle (see "What a bite" that erred here earlier today)... Missed the bar, made the re-mark: The rumor mill has it that "Ms. Harris has passed on..." That she, after failing to miss the mark required to consider "passing" the California bar exam, did so on the ? attempt, the ? she left unanswered becoming her trade...mark.  Multiple choice(s): After multiple attempts to force a choice, as in T/F failed to pin her down..."let me remind you I was a middle class kid, so..." forced the interviewer to reframe the options into A,B,C,D, all/none..."prefer not to answer" came into being as one more option, con-census... "So, just who, are YOU?" Asked the caterpillar, a more open-ended invita...

What a bite! An oversight. A hole new, cleaner campaign: If they'd only ask me, I could have saved them, as in preventive political practices.... Pro-full-axis: OK, so it's not technically correct, for you checkers, but got your attention, so NOW I'll spell it out for you... Hygienic Habits: As if you need yet another reminder, of what's good for you, what might finally get you to..."open wide..." (understandably, you might be a bit shy, after having your wallets pried open by the other side getting you to buy, consume all that garbage...) and now..."stick out your tongue..." No problem here, almost a reflexive reflection on the campaigns, ads, their negative counter-parts...lost all sense of taste... Missing an Opening: As well as an affiliate, who remain loyal, even when others are running in the other direction, in Mass. (as well as Mich. and...) a trend that was, not only preventable but reversible... From whiny to shiny: As in..."I love  de...

Speaking of Spooky, scary conditions: CIA...MI5...MIA?  "What's a spook, to do?" As in after the rain has stopped, Halloween has moved on...the so-called "cool"   conditions have given way, to warmer climes -- here as well as over there, where we, the spies among you, the ones that have been playing spook every day, without hardly a notice...
